Why it matters

Companies must identify and record the natural persons who ultimately own or control them, and keep that information current. A missing or outdated register is fined by the registrar: usually a written warning first, then AED 5,000 to AED 50,000 for a second violation and double that for a third, when the licence can also be suspended until the fine is paid and the register corrected.
